To coincide with the Oliver McGowan code of practice on statutory learning disability and autism training it has been announced that it is expected that the Oliver McGowan training will be backed by funding as part of the Learning and Development Support Scheme for adult social care in autumn 2025.

It is expected that adult social care providers who arrange for training for their staff between April 2025 and March 2026 will be able to be reimbursed for the training costs. Find out more here.

We strongly encourage providers ensure they are set up on the new LDSS funding portal in preparation to be able to reclaim training costs for this training, in addition to the existing qualifications and learning programmes already eligible for reimbursement. This funding stream will be crucial to financially support care providers meet their obligations under the Code of Practice and Health and Care Act. There are also many other courses offered by HCPA where the full costs can be reclaimed through the LDSS.
