How long will it take to complete this qualification?
This qualification involves attending eight workshop sessions, all of which are mandatory, to guide learners in demonstrating their knowledge, skills, and behaviours, ensuring they successfully achieve their qualification.
Learners are required to complete and submit coursework as part of this qualification, in addition to being observed in the workplace. It is the joint responsibility of the learner and their manager to ensure authentic coursework is submitted within the timeframes specified by the Tutor/Assessor.
Progress review meetings will be held with both the learner and their manager to support timely progression.

What are the entry requirements?
• Learners should be working in an adult care setting to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills
• Learners must have completed a robust induction and mandatory service training
• Learners should possess a strong command of the English language (e.g., Level 1).
• An initial assessment must be submitted by each learner.
• Additionally, the learner’s manager will be required to attend a one-hour virtual onboarding session to understand the expectations for both the learner and employer support.

What is needed to complete it?
• Learner must attend all sessions and complete assignments within timeframes set
• Learners must achieve 15 units through a combination of assignments and workplace observations of practice
• Learners will present a porfolio of evidence for assessment towards the required criteria

What progression opportunities are there?
• Learners could progress their career into a more senior role or take on higher responsibilities.
• Learners could progress and undertake further qualifications in areas relating to their role
• Learners could progress and undertake the Level 3 Diploma in Adults Care

Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care

For experienced Care professionals in a Senior position or enhanced responsibilities

The Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working in care settings.

The qualification is formed of mandatory units covering core competencies, and optional units allowing learners to tailor their qualification to reflect the context of their work.

How long will it take to complete this qualification?
Learners can usually complete the qualification within 9-12 months.

What are the entry requirements?
Learners should be working in an adult care setting to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills
Learners should have completed the Care Certificate.
Learners should have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Care/Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate
Learners should have a strong understanding of the English language

How many credits are required to complete it?
Learners must achieve a minimum of 58 credits to gain this qualification, 39 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 19 credits from the optional units. A minimum of 35 credits must be achieved at level 3 or above.

How is it assessed?
This qualification is assessed by an Assessor using a portfolio of evidence.

What progression opportunities are there?
Upon completion, learners could progress their career into a more senior role or take on higher responsibilities.

The Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership & Management for Adult Care qualification introduces learners to adult care leadership and management, preparing learners to progress into further/higher level training such as the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care.
The qualification covers the essential knowledge required in adult care and support, as well as management, and aligns with the Management Induction Standards, providing the knowledge and understanding to be able to move into a management role.
Career progression is a key element in retaining and growing a high-quality workforce for the adult care sector. Progression into management roles is particularly important and workers with excellent care and support skills at level 3 may be unprepared for the very different knowledge and skills required as a manager. Therefore, this qualification has been developed as a direct route from the level 3 into level 5 management qualifications.

Learners should have significant experience within the adult care sector to achieve a firm grounding in service delivery for the sector.
Learners should have a strong understanding of the English language
