Building on the success of the annual Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire Celebration Day (launched in 2022) the Herts Sport & Physical Activity Partnership (HSP) have announced their first ever Live Longer Better with Dementia Celebration Day, an event dedicated to celebrating the power of movement in helping older adults, especially those living Dementia to stay active, independent and socially connected. The event is funded by East Herts District Council, Hertfordshire County Council and is in partnership with the new Memory Support Hertfordshire service.

The event forms part of the broader Live Longer Better in Hertfordshire movement, which recognises the importance of activity to encourage longer, healthier and happier lives.

Time: 10am- 3pm

Location: Wodson Park Leisure Centre, Wadesmill Road, Ware, SG12 0UQ.

Cost: Free to attend!

What to expect:

•            A wide range of fun, accessible taster sessions including chair yoga, indoor bowls, walking sports, singing, seated cricket and much more.

•            A relaxed, drop-in format – come and go at your own convenience.

•            A welcoming, inclusive environment focused on physical activity, social interaction, and cognitive wellbeing.

•            An opportunity to meet local community groups and discover resources and support services tailored for those living with Dementia.

•            Free parking and free lunch provided!
