The Ofgem approved scheme, operated by Charis and funded by UK energy suppliers provides energy-efficient appliances and support to eligible households who are struggling to pay their energy bills.
Old cookers, fridges, freezers and washing machines are costly to run and expensive to replace so subject to available funding, the Let’s Talk Energy Fund makes available two free appliances to eligible customers, who:
- are in receipt of means tested benefits or have a gross annual household income below £20,328
- do not already have the type of appliance being applied for or have an existing appliance that’s more than 8 years old or broken.
