This email is in relation to expanding nursing home care provision across Hertfordshire, and HCC ACS would be grateful for your support in sharing this with the relevant individuals from your organisation, especially those decision makers and individuals with financial control, this will be a major opportunity and therefore engagement at this early stage is highly important.
Earlier this year, many of you participated in market engagement activity exploring opportunities to strengthen nursing care capacity across the county. Your feedback has directly informed the development of the programme, and HCC ACS are grateful for the time and insight you shared. HCPA, as your collective voice, has already submitted queries and raised ideas that we think may affect a successful application process and now, following Cabinet approval, Hertfordshire County Council is moving into the next phase of the programme and is launching a further round of care provider Market Engagement which requires input directly from those who may become partners in the next phase. The Council is bringing forward this ambitious programme to support the delivery of up to eight new nursing homes across Hertfordshire through an innovative Social Investment Model (please refer to the prospectus below to understand this model). The programme aims to increase local nursing care capacity, support market sustainability and create opportunities for providers to operate modern, purpose-built homes designed around the needs of residents. As the model is refined and prepared for future procurement, HCC is keen to gather feedback from nursing and care home providers on the commercial, operational and service principles that will underpin the successful delivery of these homes. This engagement will help ensure the model is sustainable for providers to operate while delivering high-quality outcomes for residents both now and in the future.
