Gambling harms can affect anyone, but did you know the risks are significantly higher for some groups? Research shows that those with autism and/or ADHD are twice as likely to experience gambling‑related harm than neurotypical peers. Modern forms of gambling which tend to be online can be especially risky as they disguise spending and rely on repetitive reward patterns whilst having fewer sensory and social barriers in comparison to traditional gambling.

Support is available for everyone, and early detection and help can lessen the harm. Visit the website to find free, non-judgemental help, training, and partner services: www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/gethelp

As excitement builds ahead of the FIFA World Cup, we are launching a targeted public health campaign to raise awareness of the potential risks associated with gambling during major sporting events. Working in partnership with CAN Digital Ltd, we will be sharing clear, supportive messaging to help residents make informed choices and access support if needed. Campaign content will be promoted across a range of social media channels and on our Hertfordshire Health and Wellbeing Facebook page to maximise reach. Our aim is to ensure that residents are aware of the support available and feel confident seeking help, particularly during a time when exposure to gambling opportunities may increase.
