Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) has launched a new Professional’s Referral Form for requesting Home Fire Safety Visits (HFSV) on behalf of vulnerable residents. The updated form makes it easier for partner agencies to refer individuals who may be at greater risk of fire, helping ensure they receive timely, tailored support from HFRS.

The new form automatically generates a risk score based on the information you provide, helping HFRS to prioritise the highest-risk residents first. While the form captures a wide range of vulnerabilities, the 7 below represent the most significant fire-risk factors seen in Hertfordshire.

  • Aged 65+
  • Alcohol use
  • Disability
  • Limited mobility
  • Living alone
  • Medication use
  • Smoking

Early identification of risk saves lives. By making a referral, you are helping them provide tailored support, including smoke alarms, personalised fire safety advice, and additional protection measures for those most at risk.

You can access the new form here: https://herts.cfrmis.co.uk/Onlineservices/Referral?model=PIRF It is also available at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/fire

For any residents (or staff) who are identified as lower risk, you can also share their self-assessment tool which allows them to check their own fire safety and access tailored advice without needing a full HFSV.

Thank you for helping us to keep Hertfordshire Residents safe.
