As a new partner of HCPA, we thought we would take this opportunity to introduce you to the Care Team and give you an overview of the specialists we have working in the care sector.
Managing claims
With the majority of care claims being for public or employers’ liability, we advise our clients to call us the moment they believe there may be an incident that could lead to a claim. Our dedicated care claims specialist will log these incidents, giving reassurance that all the facts have been recorded even if the incident doesn’t end up leading to a claim.
Legal support
We also recognise that a lot of care sector businesses may not have the time or resources to keep on top of the new legislation coming out of parliament or may just need some legal guidance to give them advice that may prevent a claim in the long run. That is why we offer (through Abbey Legal) access to a 24-hour legal helpline as well as a portal giving care specific legal advice in employment law, business law and health and safety law.

Our team have a wealth of experience between them and are focused on care-related insurance only. Between them they have over 200 years’ insurance experience and over 60 years’ experience in the care sector – our longest serving colleague has over 10 years’ experience working for Towergate, and our newest member of the team has just three weeks! In addition, our in-house claims team has a care specialist who can support you in the event you need to claim.
We have a team of executives who regularly visit clients which gives them a good understanding of their day to day operations as well as the challenges they face as a care sector business.
With such a wide range of experience in the care sector it is rare for us to be asked something that someone in the team doesn’t know the answer to, coupled with our partnership with Hertfordshire Care Providers Association, we have a wealth of knowledge to give our customers the advice and support they need.
