A message to all care homes to please check your expiry dates on you PCR kits as COVID has unfortunately not gone away. A care home who recently had a COVID outbreak were caught short when they went to use their PCR kits and found them all out of date.
This caused a delay in testing and has a knock-on effect for the other pathway testing at 4/7 days and 11 days causing delays in understanding the overall numbers of residents and staff affected. This a risk for all in the home and for the wider population of family and friends.
