Christmas is often a time to share with friends and family, but for some it can be a very lonely time. It is estimated that half a million elderly people will spend Christmas alone.

Community Hertsmere are holding an Annual Company Christmas Lunch on the 25th and 26th December which will be Fully Funded and open to the elderly.

If you would like to know where else is opening its doors this Christmas for the elderly or would like to be involved in making someone’s Christmas a happy one, visit communitychristmas.org.uk to learn more or volunteer your services.

Of course, it’s not just Christmas when the elderly may feel lonely, and if you know someone who may be feeling alone, Independent Age offer Fully Funded advice guides about loneliness and how to feel connected available here.

If you are able to open your service to others in the community for a Christmas dinner do please send us the details at enquiries@hcpa.info and we will put them on our website.
