The CQC reported that nearly three quarters of care homes that they originally rated Inadequate have now improved their ratings.

Responding to the report, HCPA Head of Operations Wesley Hughes said: “We know from our own work with care providers that CQC inspection ratings can act as a trigger to tackle difficult issues. We also recognise the factors that CQC identify as supporting improvement: investment in training, personalised support, and involving users and frontline staff in decision-making.”
