Hertfordshire County Council and DisabledGo would like to invite you to an event to launch a new disability access guide for Hertfordshire.
DisabledGo Launch Event on 28 July at Welwyn Garden City Library
Over 1000 venues across the Hertfordshire have been visited and detailed reports on each venue are now available on the disabledgo.com website. Access information on shops, restaurants, leisure centres, hotels, libraries, parks, museums, children’s centres and many more, will help increase independence and choice for disabled people.
A welcome from County Councillor Colette Wyatt-Lowe to be followed by a programme of talks. Firstly the impact of accessibility on the experience of living with a disability. Information about DisabledGo, assessing the venues and how the guide can help. There will be demonstrations of the DisabledGo website as well as the council’s new website, and opportunities to try them out. Multi-sensory stories for severely disabled children and activities for families will follow in the afternoon.
Many groups which work to support adults and children with disabilities across Hertfordshire will be there to provide information and advice. Light refreshments and an opportunity to chat to other visitors and advisors complete the day.
The venue is wheelchair accessible with a hearing loop, and a BSL interpreter will be available. Hertfordshire County Council and DisabledGo would like to welcome you; no booking is needed.
