Do you, or someone you know, have learning disabilities and possible Long-COVID?

The following article has been supplied by CAREVIS LC (HCC)

We have been talking to people with learning disabilities who have been feeling ill with COVID for a long time (more than three months). This is called Long-COVID. We have been asking them how they feel and how things have changed since they got Long-COVID. We have also been talking to their carers.

We have also been asking how easy it is to talk to doctors and nurses about how they have been feeling with Long-COVID. We hope to make discussions between people with a learning disability and people who look after them easier by using pictures to help. We hope that by using these pictures, people with a learning disability and Long-COVID can talk more easily and get the help they need to feel better.

When we have worked out what pictures are useful to help talk about Long-COVID, we will ask lots of people with a learning disability if they are helpful. We will listen to what they say and make change to the pictures.

If you think that you may have or have had Long-COVID, or are a carer of someone who may have Long-COVID and would like to find out more, then please email h.f.wythe@herts.ac.uk or call 07790566474.
