Around 10% of the population aged over 65 is lonely either all, or most of the time.

The Office of National Statistics estimate the population in Hertfordshire aged over 65 is 197,010 (Census – Population and Household Estimates for England and Wales). Therefore, approximately 19,701 older people in our county are lonely all or most of the time.

As your care association, we want to help you help your service users and other people in your local area by sharing resources, coming up with initiatives and giving information, along with support and guidance on how we can all work together to combat loneliness.

You or your care staff are sometimes the only person that your clients see or speak to all day, and therefore you are at the heart of helping to solve this issue, in prime position to signpost, pass on information or report issues.

If you would like to help with our initiative in some way, please take just 2 minutes of your time to complete this short survey.
