CQC state that all Registered Managers’  hold or be working towards an appropriate level 5 qualification as advised by Skills for Care. The current qualification recommended by Skills for Care for those wishing to become a registered manager is the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, and HCPA is very pleased to be offering our next cohort of this qualification in full to our members!

The work you do as a Registered Manager in Health & Social Care settings is more vital than ever. Working towards this qualification, you’ll be supported to develop your own leadership and management skills, and to lead effective operational plans in your setting, monitoring, and reviewing every aspect of service provision to constantly improve standards. The course will enable you to lead your team to respond positively to any challenges, focusing on these key areas and more:

  • Team Leadership in Adult Care
  • Managing Concerns and Complaints in Adult Care
  • Partnership Working in Adult Care
  • Outcomes based person centered practice in Adult Care
  • Safeguarding & Protection in Adult Care
  • Self-Management for Leadership in Adult Care

 

Alongside these key areas, when meeting with your tutor, you’ll be able to choose specific unit topics relevant to your service.

You’ll have regular sessions with your assessor, where you’ll be supported to collect relevant evidence from your current practice and develop your knowledge.

You’ll be taken through group learning activities where the unit content will be covered in the context of your own role and workplace.

Each session will cover best practice, and you will be signposted to relevant HCPA services you can access that link with each outcome.

Average completion time 12-18 months.

The cost of the Level 5 Diploma for Leadership and Management for Adult Care qualification is £1500 per person.

There are two ways to pay:

  • One single payment of £1500 payable prior to the course commencing.
  • 2 monthly payments of £750

 

You may be eligible to claim these funds back through Skills for Care Workforce Development Grant.

The objective of this qualification is to support a manager and leadership role in the care workplace. The content is appropriate for learners who manage care and support services. The learner must be in a current managerial position, or a current registered manager. If you are unsure whether you meet the requirements, please do get in touch.
