HCPA have had multiple enquiries recently around nail hygiene and what is acceptable at work. Our Partners would like to remind you that as per the National IPC Manual for England , colleagues must ensure fingernails are clean, short, and no artificial nails or other nail products of any kind are worn.
This includes all types of nail polish, including gels and acrylics. If you need a reminder on how to complete hand hygiene, please see this video from NHS England.
