Tuberculosis (TB) remains an important public health issue and can present specific challenges within adult social care settings.
This half day event brings together adult social care providers and partners to strengthen awareness, understanding, and confidence in responding to TB within the workforce and the people they support.
The session will explore TB from a social care perspective, focusing on early awareness, workforce considerations, and effective responses to individual cases or wider incidents. It is designed to support providers to meet their responsibilities around infection prevention, safeguarding, and workforce wellbeing.
What the Session Will Cover
Topics covered during the session will include:
- An overview of tuberculosis (TB) and how it is transmitted
- TB within the adult social care workforce
- TB case management in social care settings
- Responding to TB incidents and outbreaks
- Roles, responsibilities, and partnership working to reduce risk and support safe care delivery
Who Should Attend
This event is open to all adult social care providers, including managers, senior staff, and those with responsibility for workforce health, infection prevention and control, and service leadership.

Bookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.
Delegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred.
