The Level 5 Award in Understanding Digital Leadership in Adult Social Care is designed for senior professionals working within or supporting the adult social care sector who wish to lead safe, person-centred digital transformation.
This qualification is particularly suited to individuals in roles that enable them to demonstrate leadership, introduce and integrate technology into care delivery, and improve outcomes for people who draw on care and support.
Learners should have substantial experience within the sector and be working at Level 3 or above, with opportunities to influence digital practice in their setting.

Throughout the qualification, learners will explore how technology and data can enhance the quality, efficiency, and outcomes of care. They will also develop the skills to plan and implement appropriate digital tools, and to lead teams in building digital competence and confidence, while upholding strong standards of governance, privacy, and ethical practice.

By completing the qualification, learners will be able to:
• Understand the national context for technology and data in adult social care, including legal, ethical, safeguarding, and governance considerations.
• Identify technology and data that can improve quality of life, personalise care, and support independence.
• Plan, assess, and select digital solutions that meet organisational and service requirements.
• Engage stakeholders effectively and manage supplier/external relationships to support sustainable implementation.
• Lead change: build staff digital skills, confidence, and wellbeing; create a positive learning culture; and champion continuous improvement using feedback and outcomes data

To achieve the qualification, learners must successfully complete three mandatory units:
• Use of technology and data in adult social care
• Implement technology in adult social care
• Lead change, learning and improvement in adult social care

The course includes seven tutor-led sessions to support learners in developing the required knowledge, skills and behaviours for successful completion. Learners must also complete and submit coursework within the timeframes set by the Tutor/Assessor. Both learners and their managers share responsibility for ensuring all submissions are authentic and completed on time.

What are the entry requirements?
• Prospective learners should have substantial experience within the sector and be working at Level 3 or above, with opportunities to influence digital practice in their setting.
• They should possess a strong command of the English language (e.g., Level 2).
