Power of Music – Music in Herts Dementia Care
We would love you and your team to join our engagement forum to find out more about the Power of Music – Music in Herts Dementia Care programme, with a specific focus on the 1 day training course for homecare staff to embed meaningful music practice into everyday support, which will be available from June 2026.
This forum will introduce the programme as a whole, explain how the 1 day course fits alongside the wider offer, and provide an opportunity for homecare providers to share feedback, reflections, and views on how the programme can work best within homecare settings.
The Power of Music project aims to increase access to personalised and meaningful music experiences for people living with dementia by supporting carers to use music purposefully as part of daily care and support. The 1 day course is designed to help homecare staff build confidence, skills, and practical approaches to using music during visits, based on each person’s preferences, life history, and cultural background.
The training focuses on improving wellbeing, communication, and engagement through simple, evidence informed music practices that can be embedded into routine homecare interactions rather than delivered as standalone activities.
This session is aimed at Home Care, Domiciliary Care, Hospices, Homecare Registered Managers, Deputy / Assistant Managers, Dementia Leads or Champions, Care Coordinators or Senior Carers, Learning & Development / Practice Development Leads
