Are you supporting people with a Respiratory Condition, such as COPD and Asthma or those who have recurrent Chest Infections?
Do your staff know how to recognise the signs of an acutely unwell person, and how and when to escalate appropriately in order to avoid inappropriate hospital admissions?
Do your staff have the skills needed to support a person who is breathless or how to get someone to clear their chest to reduce the chances of deterioration?
This course offers the opportunity to discuss the current management of the people in your care who have a Respiratory Condition.
It will also give you an overview of the HCPA Respiratory Conditions Tiers 1 and 2 for your staff and the topics covered, as well as providing you with the knowledge of some of the practical tools that can be implemented by your staff to ensure that you are delivering the best possible care for people with a Respiratory Condition
Learning Outcomes:
* To understand what you need to help you support people with a Respiratory Condition or who have recurrent chest infections
* To have an awareness of the RESTORE2/NEWS2 tools for recognising the signs of an acutely unwell person, and how and when to escalate appropriately in order to avoid an inappropriate hospital admission, or to ensure they are transferred to hospital to avoid unnecessary deterioration.
* To know how to support a person who is breathless and how to help someone to clear their chest to reduce the chances of deterioration
* To have a clear understanding of the topics covered in the HCPA Tier 1 and 2 Staff Respiratory Conditions training
