Stepping into a leadership role comes with new challenges, responsibilities, and the need to manage time and people effectively. This course equips emerging leaders with essential skills in time management, mentoring, and coaching to enhance productivity, reduce stress, and support team development.
Learners will explore practical strategies to overcome common time management pitfalls, such as procrastination and inefficient prioritisation, while learning to implement tools like the Time Management Matrix. Additionally, the course delves into the critical distinctions between mentoring and coaching, offering insights into when and how to apply each approach for maximum impact.
Through interactive discussions, learners will gain valuable techniques for effective delegation, coaching conversations, and guiding their teams toward success. By the end of the course, new leaders will be equipped with the skills to manage their time wisely and develop their teams through purposeful mentoring and coaching.
Entry requirements:
Learners who attend this course need to be New to Leadership.
Learning objectives:
• Understand the importance of effective time management and its impact on productivity, stress levels, and overall leadership effectiveness.
• Identify personal “thieves of time” and common time management mistakes, including procrastination and fear of failure, and develop strategies to overcome them.
• Learn how to manage and prioritise tasks effectively by categorising them based on urgency and importance using the Time Management Matrix.
• Evaluate different time management tools and communication techniques to enhance efficiency and delegation skills.
• Differentiate between mentoring and coaching, understanding their unique roles and benefits in leadership and team development.
• Explore coaching techniques and models, including effective questioning strategies, and discover how coaching can be applied in different workplace scenarios to support and develop team members.
