There is also evidence to suggest that people living with obesity are at higher risk of the more severe outcomes associated with COVID-19.

Hertfordshire’s free Adult Weight Management Service
Supports residents to achieve a healthier weight through personalised, practical guidance. Adults aged 18+ who are registered with a Hertfordshire GP can self‑refer.
The programme offers one‑to‑one support, group sessions, tailored healthy eating plans, and help to build long‑term lifestyle changes. Three pathways are available: a 14‑week group programme, a specialist one‑year plan for those with conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes or hypertension, and a dedicated healthy pregnancy pathway.
It’s designed to be supportive, accessible and focused on sustainable wellbeing, with regular check‑ins and access to an online portal.
