If you were thinking of Referring a service user for a community alarm or telecare, but have concerns regarding COVID-19 situation, rest assured we are classed as Key Workers so our engineers and Control Room are working as usual to support you.

For us, every day is business as usual. So the current situation will not stop us making an appointment to install a new community alarm or telecare for your service user. Just visit www.care-line.co.uk to make a secure Referral.

If the patient is not self-isolating or feeling unwell, we will be able to attend their home in the usual way to install the equipment.

If they are feeling unwell, we have processes in place to support those self-isolating or suffering from COVID-19. We can provide pre-programmed digital equipment to the doorstep without the need to enter a person’s home. We will then telephone the service user to guide them through the simple process of plugging the equipment in and making a test call to the Control Room to ensure everything is working as it should be.

Either way, please be reassured that all of our engineers will be wearing PPE and gloves and will use sanitising wipes on the way in and way out on all door handles, surfaces and equipment they touch. During the demonstration, they will adhere to 2 metre social distancing regulations and will also stay the recommended distance away from the person if they are in their home.

We understand that many of those in your care may not be seeing their family members for regular visits, so may be finding isolation lonely. It may also hinder their ability to apply for a community alarm. If this is the case, just let us know as we have a FREE, no obligation telephone home form filling service which will be able to go through with you or the client. We just want to make it as easy as possible for people to benefit from the reassurance and safety that our service can bring.

So please don’t let the current situation worry you, we are prepared and ready to support those in your care. You can make a referral for a community alarm or telecare at www.care-line.co.uk email CarelineSupport@north-herts.gov.uk or give us a call for more information on 0300 999 2 999.
