Fully-funded workshop for elderly and learning disability services

Hertfordshire’s Domestic Abuse Partnership

We have partnered with HCC to offer a fully funded study day to help our members gain a better understanding of how to respond to domestic abuse in line with Hertfordshire’s Domestic Abuse Strategy and the Care Act.

Who should attend?

Senior staff with responsibility for development and implementation of policy and practice, or those who may come into contact with people affected by domestic abuse, or who supervise, manage and support their staff.

What will you learn?

Join this study day to gain further understanding of domestic abuse and your role. Improve confidence and implement practice to enable earlier identification, intervention and prevention of ongoing abuse, helping to reduce risk of further serious harm or death.

The session will include:

  • An overview of legislative, policy and service development
  • The nature, dynamics, risk-management and impact of abuse
  • Insight into presentation and responses in a social care context
  • Understanding local multi-agency response and service structures

There are two sessions running; one will be tailored for Adult Disability Services, and the other will be aimed at Elderly Care Services.
