Guide for providers
According to the Hertfordshire All Age Autism Strategy, it is estimated that in our county at least 2500 children and 9000 adults are affected by autism.
The Hertfordshire All Age Autism Partnership Board have developed a guide for care providers to use to help train their staff to have a better understanding and knowledge of the Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Although the group recognise that many organisations already have good training in autism for staff, the Workforce Development Guide serves as a tool for managers to:
- Embed the autism skills and knowledge framework
- Undertake assessment of their employees’ skills, knowledge and competence in this specialist area
- Provide a list of additional resources
- Offer top 10 tips for supporting people with autism
The guide is free to download from the Hertfordshire All Age Autism Partnership Board website under the Guidance for Managers section.
