The ReSPECT process creates personalised recommendations for a person’s clinical care and treatment in a future emergency in which they are unable to make or express choices.
These recommendations are created through conversations between a person, their families, and their health and care professionals to understand what matters to them and what is realistic in terms of their care and treatment.
All Hertfordshire residents who require them will now start to receive/already have RESPECT documentation instead of DNACPR documentation. It is important managers are able to support their staff in all settings to recognise the paperwork, understanding its content, store appropriately, contribute toits creation and ensure the wishes are followed.
This upcoming webinar will give care managers a full introduction to the new process, their services roles and responsibilities, the benefits of respect and where they can access ongoing education for care staff and support.
