HCPA are excited to launch more cohorts of the Music in Herts Dementia Care Champion programme. Discover how music can deeply connect, comfort, and uplift those living with dementia.
The training empowers care professionals to:

♪ Use music to build meaningful connections with residents
♪ Apply person-centred approaches to meet individual preferences
♪ Integrate music into life stories and care plans
♪ Engage groups with complex needs through inclusive strategies
♪ Deliver evidence-based sessions using curated resources
♪ Cascade knowledge to colleagues through work-time learning
♪ Observe and reflect on practical 15-minute sessions
This programme is available for Residential and Nursing Homes in Hertfordshire.
This three‑day training equips care staff with practical skills to use music in dementia care, helping to improve communication, reduce anxiety, and enhance wellbeing for people living with dementia. Participants will gain confidence in creating meaningful musical experiences and join the countywide Music Champions Network for ongoing support.
