The Dementia Community is offering a new series of free, one-hour webinars throughout June and July 2025, open to all care providers, carers, and professionals supporting people living with dementia.

Each session explores a unique theme designed to inspire and inform those working in dementia care:

Monday 9 June 2025, 2pm-3pm: Changing the conversation about hearing and dementia to drive positive action

Find out about the connection between dementia and hearing loss, how shared symptoms can complicate diagnosis, review current research on interventions and management, and discover how to challenge stigma and attitudes towards hearing loss with Dr Helen Henshaw, University of Nottingham and Dr Hannah Semeraro, RNID.

Tuesday 24 June 2025, 2pm-3pm: Introducing Take Note: 100 musical ideas for carers to use with older people.

 Join Professor Adam Ockelford and Dr Fi Costa from the University of Roehampton as they provide practical suggestions for using music in a range of situations and demonstrate some of the outcomes that can be achieved. Leave inspired and equipped to use music with confidence when supporting people with dementia.

Tuesday 8 July 2025, 2pm-3pm: Alleviating social isolation through intergenerational connections. 

Explore links between ageing, social isolation and dementia with David Annand from Adopt a Grandparent as he shares how Adopt a Grandparent are alleviating loneliness for older people living in care homes and how you can get involved.

Tuesday 22 July 2025, 2pm-3pm: Designing inclusive environments for people living with dementia: how much do we really know?

Learn about dementia friendly environmental design from the Association for Dementia Studies, University of Worcester as Sarah Waller CBE and Jennifer Bray provide information and guidance about assessing and creating internal and external spaces that will enable people living with dementia to live well, including practical advice on small scale changes to consider implementing.
