We will cover conditions such as diabetes\, coeliac disease\, food allergies and constipation to name a few. Caring for adults who are tube fed will also be included. In addition we will discuss different cultural diets and religious dietary laws. Menu evaluation and planning will be covered in order to explore how different dietary needs for medical\, cultural or religious reasons can be met. \nLearning objectives:\n• Describe the key principles of special diets advised for the treatment and management of diabetes\, coeliac disease\, constipation and other medical conditions identified.\n• Differentiate between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes\n• Take a person centred approach plan how additional menu planning can improve the meal provision and enjoyment for clients on special diets.\n• Recognise the emotional and psychological issues associated with restrictive diets\n• Explain the dietary restrictions of different religions and cultures \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nBookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred

DESCRIPTION:Course fee: HCPA Full Member: Fully funded*\nAssociate Member: £56+VAT | ACE Member: £50+VAT | Non-member: £75+VAT  \nOne day course at HCPA \nDelegates will have an opportunity to understand the widespread nature of trauma within populations\, and how these can manifest on both an individual\, community\, cultural and national level. \nDelegates will learn how traumatic experiences\, especially those in childhood can fundamentally affect the way in which brain development occurs and will explore different types of trauma responses. They will also learn a key principle of being trauma informed is by looking beyond presenting behaviours and understand trauma informed approaches are not a specific intervention\, rather an organisational change to how people within all levels of an organisation are treated.
