More information can be found here\n\nOne day course at HCPA Campus\nThis course is suitable for staff providing direct care or making decisions across all adult care settings \nUnder the Health and Care Act 2022 all CQC-regulated providers must ensure their staff receive training in learning disability and autism that is appropriate to their role.\nThis is supported by the Oliver McGowan Code of Practice\, which sets out how to meet this legal duty. \n\nThis applies to all services\nEven if your service does not currently support autistic people or people with a learning disability\, this requirement still applies.\nPeople with learning disabilities and autistic people may use a wide range of services\, including general\, older people’s\, and non-specialist settings. In some cases\, individuals may not have a formal diagnosis or may not have disclosed it. Delegates must be fit and able to participate*\n\nThe Emergency First Aid at Work qualification\, which conforms with HSE guidance\, provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by emergency first aid responders in most workplaces\, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.\nThe qualification meets the requirements for training emergency first-aid responders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first-aid needs assessment. The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the emergency first aid responder\, how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED. In line with guidance provided by the HSE\, the qualification supports/approves emergency workplace first aid responders for a period of 3 years\, after which point delegates will need to retake the course. More information can be found here\n\nOne day course at HCPA Mundells Campus\nThis course is suitable for staff providing direct care or making decisions across all adult care settings \nUnder the Health and Care Act 2022 all CQC-regulated providers must ensure their staff receive training in learning disability and autism that is appropriate to their role.\nThis is supported by the Oliver McGowan Code of Practice\, which sets out how to meet this legal duty. \n\nThis applies to all services\nEven if your service does not currently support autistic people or people with a learning disability\, this requirement still applies.\nPeople with learning disabilities and autistic people may use a wide range of services\, including general\, older people’s\, and non-specialist settings. In some cases\, individuals may not have a formal diagnosis or may not have disclosed it. Delegates must be fit and able to use moving and assisting equipment*\nThis course is suitable for anybody whose role involves Moving & Assisting activities within a social care setting\, such as those working in a care home\, nursing home\, or home care setting. \nIf you work in health and social care\, it is likely you will have to move or assist people as part of your role. Often this will involve the use of specialist equipment such as sliding aids\, hoists\, slings and handling belts. It is important that you carry out Moving & Assisting activities safely and correctly to prevent the risk of injuries to yourself or others. \nThe course will provide the information and guidance needed to move and position individuals safely\, in a way that promotes their independence\, dignity and functional mobility.
