DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nCourse fee: HCPA Standard Member: Fully funded*\nAssociate/Network Member: £75+VAT | Non-member: £150+VAT \nTwo day course at HCPA Campus\nDay 1: 07/05/2026\nDay 2: 08/05/2026\n\nCourse Overview\nExtending Knowledge for Confident\, Collaborative Practice\nThis advanced safeguarding course is designed for care professionals who want to deepen their understanding and enhance their ability to protect adults at risk. Building on foundational knowledge\, the course explores the principles of adult safeguarding in greater depth and emphasises confident\, informed decision-making and effective multi-agency collaboration.\nLearners will gain the skills and insight needed to identify signs of abuse or neglect\, respond appropriately to concerns\, and navigate the complexities of safeguarding legislation and local policy. Through practical guidance this course supports learners in recognising unsafe practices and taking the right action to protect those in their care. \nIdeal for those in adult care roles at all levels\, this course encourages proactive\, partnership-based safeguarding that puts the wellbeing of the people that we support at the centre.\nCat C – following/promoting best practice/ supporting colleagues with additional knowledge \nReporting to/ guided by Champ & Manager Awareness of roles and responsibilities – processes and policies \nThis course is aligned with the Workforce Development Pathway under:\n• Care or Support Worker – Established in their role with consolidated skills and experience\n• Enhanced Care Worker – Delegated healthcare activities and/or condition-specific support \nLearning objectives:\n• Understand the principles of adult safeguarding and their importance in promoting the wellbeing and safety of individuals at risk.\n• Promoting best practice to enable and empower all colleagues to recognise the signs\, symptoms\, and indicators of abuse or neglect\, and understand how to respond appropriately to concerns.\n• Develop knowledge of national legislation and local safeguarding policies\, including how current laws impact adult protection practices. \n• Learn how to internally escalate unsafe practices and respond to suspected or disclosed abuse\, following correct procedures and protocols.\n• Understand the importance of multi-agency collaboration and understand your role in how to effectively participate in joint working to safeguard the people that you support. \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nBookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred.
