Care Certificate

All staff must be fully inducted into the care sector to enable them to understand precisely their roles and responsibilities and to ensure services are compliant with the inspectorate. A person without this competence will remain under-confident, may leave the job or worse, may inadvertently cause someone harm.

Through HCPA, staff can undertake a training package which covers the knowledge elements of the 15 standards of the Skills for Care ‘Care Certificate‘ (industry standard) and whilst gaining this, delegates will also receive a Level 1 Award in Health and Social Care.

The staff member will complete workbooks to evidence their knowledge, assessed by qualified HCPA assessors, to enable competencies to be observed by a competent person within the organisation.

When the staff member has demonstrated that they are competent in each of the standards, a record of the competency checks should be recorded, and kept in the organisation to present to inspectors, or any other stakeholders, when required. A full Care Certificate can then be made from the Skills for Care website

Delegates attending our SEVEN day course at HCPA Campus also undertake practical training in Basic Life Support and Moving and Positioning.

Delegates attending our SIX day virtual course are provided with knowledge training of Moving and Positioning and Basic First Aid, therefore you will need to ensure practical training is provided..

Care Professionals Refresher Programme

Our Refresher programme is provided to those who have previously completed the Care Certificate. It supports established Care Professionals to refresh and update their knowledge to an enhanced standard and links to CQC key lines of enquiry (KLOEs) and CQC fundamental standards.

Learners can gain attendance certificates for all topics, alongside a Level 2 accredited certificate in Principles of Communication in adult social care settings, evidencing their knowledge of the importance of communication in adult social care settings, and ways to overcome barriers to meet individual needs and preferences in communication.
