It is suitable for managers and leaders of care providers interested in expanding their skills and knowledge on safe medicine administration in their organisation. \nLearning Outcomes\n• Understand the legislation and guidance underpinning medication governance and how you can embed this using the medication standards document\n• Ensure the service understands and is meeting the regulatory and local monitoring requirements for medication administration\, including the consequences of incorrect practice\n• Recognise and review the responsibilities involved in effective medication practice throughout the organisation\, including process for escalations\n• To have clear guidance and structure regarding the roles\, responsibilities\, and accountabilities with different roles for medication administration\n• Understand good methods of communication with the wider staff teams and explore how you will establish ongoing communication to the wider team on good medication practice. \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred

DESCRIPTION:     \nCourse fees: Fully funded\nONLY available for Hertfordshire Homecare\, Domiciliary Care and Hospice services supporting those living with Dementia\nAudience: Current Dementia and Engagement Champion or Equivalent training\, Care Coordinators or Senior Carer’s\, Learning & Development / Practice Development Leads\, Social Prescribers and Exercise group leaders \nOne day course at HCPA Campus \nFollowing training\, delegates will be invited to attend monthly 1 hour online network sessions to continue learning from others \nEntry Requirements – Delegates are required to have existing extended knowledge in dementia (eg HCPA Dementia or Engagement Champion or equivalent.)  \nDelegates should also complete this pre-learning prior to attending WATCH HERE \nDiscover how music can transform dementia care in this engaging and practical one-day course\, designed specifically for home care staff. Part of the Power of Music – Music in Herts Dementia Care programme\, this course supports care professionals to use music as a powerful\, person-centred tool to enhance wellbeing\, communication\, and connection. \nLearners will explore the science behind music and the brain\, gaining an understanding of why music remains accessible even as dementia progresses. The course highlights the wide-ranging benefits of music\, including improved mood\, reduced anxiety\, enhanced communication\, and stronger connections with others. \nThrough practical activities and real-life examples\, participants will develop the confidence to use music creatively within everyday care. This includes creating personalised playlists\, incorporating music into daily routines such as personal care and mealtimes\, and using music to support prevention\, independence\, and positive behaviour support. \nA strong focus is placed on person-centred care\, helping learners understand how to identify and respect individual music preferences\, cultural backgrounds\, and life stories.
