It identifies different types of abuse\, along with the signs and symptoms that might indicate abuse is occurring. It considers when individuals might be particularly vulnerable to abuse and what a care professional must do if abuse is suspected or alleged. \nLearning objectives:\n• Recognise signs and symptoms of abuse\n• Summarise how to respond to suspected or alleged abuse\n• Identify the national and local context of safeguarding and protection from abuse\n• Recognise ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse\n• Explain how to recognise and report unsafe practices\n• Recognise the principles of Mental Capacity and how this relates to effective safeguarding \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nBookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred.

Delegates must be fit and able to use moving and assisting equipment*\nThis course is suitable for anybody whose role involves Moving & Assisting activities within a social care setting\, such as those working in a care home\, nursing home\, or home care setting. \nIf you work in health and social care\, it is likely you will have to move or assist people as part of your role. Often this will involve the use of specialist equipment such as sliding aids\, hoists\, slings and handling belts. It is important that you carry out Moving & Assisting activities safely and correctly to prevent the risk of injuries to yourself or others. \nThe course will provide the information and guidance needed to move and position individuals safely\, in a way that promotes their independence\, dignity and functional mobility.
