Each day focuses on crucial aspects of care\, ensuring you are well-prepared to deliver high-quality\, person-centred support. \nContent:\nDay 1: Understanding Your Role and Person-Centred Care\nRole of a Care Professional\, Duty of Care and Candour\n• Gain insight into the responsibilities and expectations of a care professional.\n• Learn about the principles of duty of care and candour\, and how they apply in everyday practice.\nUnderstanding Person-Centred Care (Hertfordshire Connected Lives)\n• Explore the concepts of person-centred care and how they enhance the quality of life for individuals.\n• Understand the Hertfordshire Connected Lives approach and its application in care settings. \nDay 2: Communication\, Information Handling\, and Safeguarding\nUnderstanding Communication and Safe Information Handling\n• Develop effective communication skills essential for interacting with individuals in care.\n• Learn the importance of safe information handling and confidentiality.\nSafeguarding Awareness\n• Understand the principles of safeguarding and the role of a care professional in protecting vulnerable individuals.\n• Recognize the signs of abuse and neglect and know how to report concerns appropriately. \nDay 3: Health\, Safety\, Wellbeing\, and Inclusion\nUnderstanding Health\, Safety & Wellbeing\n• Learn about the health\, safety\, and wellbeing practices that ensure a safe environment for both care professionals and individuals in care.\n• Understand risk assessment and management in care settings.\nMaintaining Dignity in Care\, Equality\, Diversity\, and Inclusion\n• Discover the importance of maintaining dignity and respect in care.\n• Explore concepts of equality\, diversity\, and inclusion\, and how to promote these values in your practice. \nDay 4: Mental Health\, Dementia\, and Learning Disabilities\nUnderstanding Mental Health\, Dementia\, Learning Disabilities\, Autistic Spectrum Disorder\n• Gain knowledge about mental health conditions\, dementia\, learning disabilities\, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.\n• Learn strategies for providing effective support to individuals with these conditions. \nDay 5: Nutrition\, Oral Health\, and Cultural Awareness\nUnderstanding Fluid\, Nutrition\, and Oral Health\n• Understand the importance of proper nutrition\, hydration\, and oral health in overall wellbeing.\n• Learn how to support individuals in maintaining these aspects of health.\nCultural Awareness\n• Develop awareness of cultural differences and their impact on care.\n• Learn to provide culturally sensitive care that respects and values diversity. \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nBookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred
