It is the joint responsibility of the learner and their manager to ensure authentic coursework is submitted within the timeframes specified by the Tutor/Assessor.\nProgress review meetings will be held with both the learner and their manager to support timely progression. \nWhat are the entry requirements?\n• Prospective learners must have completed a comprehensive induction and mandatory service training.\n• They should possess a strong command of the English language (e.g.\, Level 1).\n• An initial assessment must be submitted by each learner.\n• Additionally\, the learner’s manager will be required to attend a one-hour virtual onboarding session to understand the expectations for both the learner and employer support.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nCourse fee: HCPA Standard Member: Fully funded*\nAssociate/Network Member: £37.50+VAT | Non-member: £75+VAT \nOne day course at HCPA Campus\nThe number of people requiring bed care appears to have risen since the pandemic\, leading to a variety of challenges for both clients and care providers. This course aims to provide knowledge on the decision-making process for individuals at risk of receiving permeant bed care. Delegates will learn to consider all factors to prevent long-term bed care dependency\, incorporating practical solutions at both the carer and provider levels. \nThe course also addresses the outcomes of increased bed care management for both staff and those under our care. This includes the management of contractures and guidance on leveraging external agencies for additional support. \nLearning objectives:\n• Understand the impact and risks of long-term bed care management.\n• Recognise the factors that increase the risk bed care.\n• Explain how to prevent the risk of being cared for in bed through:\n• Simple Seating\, Activity and Posture\n• Goals\, actions\, and evidence\n• Understand the impact of contractures and how to support people who have developed them.\n• Explain how to support people when long term bed care is necessary. \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nBookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred.
