DESCRIPTION:    \nThis is a closed course for Quantum Care employees only. \nCourse fee: £75+VAT\nThis course is eligible for funding re-imbursement via the Learning & Development Support Scheme (LDSS). More information can be found here\n\nOne day course at Quantum Care Silver Court\nThis course is suitable for staff providing direct care or making decisions across all adult care settings \nUnder the Health and Care Act 2022 all CQC-regulated providers must ensure their staff receive training in learning disability and autism that is appropriate to their role.\nThis is supported by the Oliver McGowan Code of Practice\, which sets out how to meet this legal duty. \n\nThis applies to all services\nEven if your service does not currently support autistic people or people with a learning disability\, this requirement still applies.\nPeople with learning disabilities and autistic people may use a wide range of services\, including general\, older people’s\, and non-specialist settings. In some cases\, individuals may not have a formal diagnosis or may not have disclosed it. Therefore\, all staff must be equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide safe\, respectful\, and inclusive care. \nThe Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the government’s preferred training of meaningful training for health and social care staff on learning disabilities and autism.\nThe Tier 2 course is co-delivered by trainers with lived experience and covers: \n\nAvoiding diagnostic overshadowing\nCommon co-occurring conditions\nLegal frameworks (Mental Capacity Act\, Human Rights Act\, Autism Act\, Equality Act)\nReasonable adjustments\, including hospital passports\nAppropriate DNACPR application\nProfessional culture\, biases\, and their impact\nAccessible communication\nUnderstanding and responding to individuals and families\nAsk Listen Do framework\nLearning from LeDeR\n\nPrior to attending\, delegates must have completed the e-learning module which can be found here\nPlease note this is managed on the national platform “e-learning for healthcare” and is not managed by HCPA. Read more about the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Learning and Development Support Scheme here! \nFIVE Day course at HCPA Campus\nAll sessions must be attended\nDay 1: 13/05/2026\nDay 2: 19/05/2026\nDay 3: 26/05/2026\nDay 4: 09/06/2026\nDay 5: 16/06/2026 \nLead to Succeed is a practical learning programme aimed at aspiring managers and deputies in adult social care services. \nThis Skills for Care learning programme will help individuals to develop their leadership and management potential\, gain knowledge and be supported and challenged to put this into practice. Unlike undertaking formal qualifications\, which can often feel like a solitary process\, Lead to Succeed connects aspiring managers with their peers. Learners completing Lead to succeed will understand how successful behaviours and practical strategies can support them in their day-to-day work. They will be challenged to put these into practice\, boosting their capacity to lead and manage effectively. The programme includes an emphasis on reflection\, helping individuals to learn from their day-to-day experiences and think about how they can do things differently or get better at recognising what they do well. \nThe programme is delivered through five interactive modules covering the objectives below: \n\nSuccessful behaviours for leaders and managers\nBecoming a leader\nDeveloping a positive culture\nEffective supervision and coaching\nLeading and managing the inspection process\n\nHow it helps new managers and deputies \nLead to Succeed is at the forefront of the more formal development of aspiring new managers and deputies. This learning programme will help individuals to develop their leadership and management potential\, gain knowledge and be supported and challenged to put this into practice.\nWe’ve received overwhelming feedback about the difference it can make. Unlike undertaking formal qualifications\, which can often feel like a solitary process\, Lead to Succeed connects aspiring managers with their peers. Learners completing Lead to succeed will understand how successful behaviours and practical strategies can support them in their day-to-day work. They will be challenged to put these into practice\, boosting their capacity to lead and manage effectively. The programme includes an emphasis on reflection\, helping individuals to learn from their day-to-day experiences and think about how they can do things differently or get better at recognising what they do well. \nAs HCPA hold the Quality Assured Learning Service (QACLS) benchmark\, you can confidently book this programme\, knowing the training is of an exceptionally high standard and will provide you with the vital skills needed to successfully lead. \nLearners are expected to attend each of the five learning and development modules that make up the programme and will only be able to receive a certificate of completion if they have participated in all five modules. Delegates who withdraw or do not complete will not be refunded and won’t be able to claim reimbursement through the LDSS. Cancellation charges apply.
