DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nCourse fee: HCPA Full Member: Fully funded*\nAssociate Member: £75+VAT | ACE Member: £100+VAT | Non-member: £150+VAT \nTwo day course at HCPA\nDay 1: 11/02/2026\nDay 2: 12/02/2026 \nThis course builds on basic knowledge\, enhancing understanding and embedding good practice in maintaining skin integrity and pressure ulcer prevention \nLearning objectives: \nSkin integrity Day 1\n• Understand the impact of National and local drivers for wound care\n• Revision of Anatomy & Physiology of the skin and wound healing\n• Understanding the importance of accurate Holistic Wound assessment\n• Explore different management options and introduction of local pathways\n• Gaining knowledge in prevention and management of Skin tears\n• Developing skills in dressing products selection according to wound type\n• Identifying and understanding the management of lower limb conditions\n• Explore foot health in care settings and care of the diabetic foot \nPressure ulcer Prevention and Management Day 2\n• Gain knowledge of national and local drivers for pressure ulcer prevention\n• Review the physiology of pressure ulcer development\n• Gain skills and knowledge in identification of pressure damage\n• Discuss how to use ASSKING care bundles with the ‘Great Skin’ tools in care settings\n• Improve understanding of why surface is important (to include seating and posture)\n• Improve skills and knowledge in actions resulting from risk assessment and skin inspection\n• Understand why /how it is important to keep patients/residents moving\n• Discuss prevention of skin damage caused by moisture\n• Apply the principles of nutrition to pressure ulcer prevention\n• Understand the importance of developing skills and knowledge in giving information and teaching colleagues\, residents and their families in the care setting to raise awareness and reduce risk. \n*Please note: As per our T&C’s\, this course carries a fee in the event of non-attendance\, non-completion or late cancellation.\nBookings of more than two delegates per site may be amended to allow access to all member organisations at the discretion of HCPA.\nDelegates who are late may not be admitted into the training and a cost incurred
