Leading a Workforce Coaching Strategy

Course Description

Would you like your supervision to be carried out in a coaching style? This course covers a range of coaching techniques: focuses on active listening skills; gives an understanding of how to use coaching in the workplace; and helps to create a strategy to implement coaching in the workplace – using building rapport, goal setting, encouraging smart goals and delivering constructive feedback.

Please be aware that this training will require coursework to be completed, which is why an individual support day that will be arranged by mutual consent and participants will be offered a time slot on the day to suit them in order to complete this.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Understand what workplace coaching is and identify its components
  • Support learning and development of others using the ‘SHOOTS’ model of coaching
  • Establish a toolkit of practical strategies and techniques to enable more effective coaching
  • Use a range of coaching competencies to enable others to develop and apply their knowledge and skills
  • Identify your own current coaching competencies and areas of development
  • Apply the principles and ethics of coaching

Requirements

Learners must be able to take their skills back and create a coaching culture in their workplace. Learners should come to this course already competent in basic supervision techniques. (See page 79 for Basic Supervision skills)
