19 March - 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
19th March 2019
The aim of this day is to provide experienced cares staff with an understanding of the legal implications and practical strategies for managing care with one carer. It is presumed that all delegates will have an understanding of recognised techniques for the safer handling of people including skills with regards to the use of small handling aids; transfer aids and hoists.
This course will enable care staff to work alone when assisting a client with mobility needs when this has been assessed as a safe strategy by a competent person.
- Staff will have been shown and practised with equipment that will enable them to work alone, when this has been assessed as good practice
- They will understand any changes that may occur and how these may affect staffing levels
- They will have applied special slings that may enable single-handed working
- Staff will understand the need for accurate and holistic care-plans, allowing for different strategies being employed in different conditions
