Safeguarding: Root Cause Analysis – Cohort 1

Course description

This course covers how to promote and develop robust root cause analysis practice within your organisation. It will support staff to take appropriate and positive action to protect someone’s safety, welfare and wellbeing

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course learners will be able to:
– Explore what root cause analysis is
– Evaluate new ways of working and state how these practices can be implemented
– Explore appropriate tools and techniques to identify and document the root causes of incidents and recurring problems in their organisation
– Explore new ways of recording and sharing information

Requirements and expectations

Learners will be expected to be engaged in learning, participate in all activities including group discussions, and share their own experiences of working in the care sector, whilst respecting confidentiality

Learners should have knowledge of safeguarding, and be (or will be in) in a leadership or senior care position who has responsibilities for Safeguarding and Root Cause analysis within the organisation

A Onefile (e-portfolio) profile will be created on the learners behalf to support them in the completion of their course
