Course Description

This course will highlight the broad benefits of incorporating nutrition and food-based activities with your service users. You will have the opportunity to develop and discuss different ideas that will lead to meaningful and enjoyable activities that will also aim to improve the nutritional knowledge of your service users and staff. This will have a positive impact on overall diet and food intake leading to improved health outcomes.

Learning outcomes

  • Plan and identify appropriate nutrition-related activities for service users
  • Identify local resources, services and voluntary organisations that could enhance nutrition-related engagement
  • Identify and plan nutrition-focused theme days relating to culture, sport or other interests of the service user
  • Develop one to one and group nutrition-related activities that facilitate inclusion and celebrate diversity
