Leg Ulcer Management Training Programme – for Nursing Home Registered Nurses – with Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust

Note: This training is only for nurses within East and North Hertfordshire
This education programme is open to all East & North Herts Primary Care, ICT and Nursing Home ICT HCAs and Nurses.
The programme is a combination of independent learning and virtual groups, followed by a practical day, and will give you all the skills needed to deliver excellent leg ulcer care to your patients.

Timeline:
October: Independent Study – Anatomy & physiology of the lower limb – 1 hour
October: Independent Study – Anatomy & physiology of the skin – 1 hour
October: Independent Study – Anatomy & physiology of wound healing – 1 hour
01/11/2023 @ 12:30-13:45: Virtual session – Immediate and necessary care (OR complete the independent module)
07/11/2023 @ 12:30-13:45: Virtual session – Wound bed preparation
23/11/2023 @ 12:30-13:45: Virtual session – Wound bed preparation
November: Independent Study – Immediate and Necessary Care – 1 hour
November: Independent Study – Simplifying compression – 30 mins
November: Independent Study – Addressing skin tone bias – 20 mins
November: Independent Study – Lower Limb Holistic Vascular Assessment (Fully Qualified Nurses only) – 30 mins
05/12/2023 @ 12:30-13:45: Virtual session – Wound infection and AMS in wound care
14/12/2023 @ 12:30-13:45: Virtual session – Wound infection and AMS in wound care
December: Independent Study – Working together to tackle biofilms and wound infections – 1 hour
19/12/2023 @ 09:00-15:00: Practical Skills Day @ Howard Court, Welwyn
