Course description

This course is delivered over two sessions (5th and 11th May 2021) and all sessions must be attended (T&C’s apply). This course has a coursework element which must be completed within 30 days of the course end date (T&C’s apply)

Learning outcomes

This course is an interactive introductory course providing learners with the opportunity to understand and define what is meant by stress and what its causes are. Learners will have the opportunity to recognise the effects of stress and how it affects people in various ways. It will enable them to develop an understanding of the different types of stress and identify when they are experiencing stress that could have potentially harmful effects. Learners will have the opportunity to identify possible causes of stress, and explore a range of healthy strategies that can be used to prevent and reduce the effects of stress they encounter in their daily lives. Learners will also gain an understanding of when and how they should seek specialist help if they are experiencing significant levels of stress.

Requirements and expectations

By the end of this course learners will be able to:
• Define what is meant by stress.
• Recognise the effects of stress.
• Identify possible causes of stress.
• Identify how to recognise stress
• Determine ways to prevent and reduce the effects of stress

Requirements and expectations

Learners will be expected to attend all sessions, complete coursework within agreed timeframes (T&C’s apply), be engaged in learning, participate in all activities including group discussions, and be willing and able to implement the skills from the session

A Onefile (e-portfolio) profile will be created on the learners behalf to support them in the completion of their course
