Course description
This course is aimed at those working in a wide range of settings. It provides the learner with the knowledge and understanding of the social and medical models of disability and how these may be implemented.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course learners will be able to:
• Explain the difference between the terms disability and impairment.
• Identity how key legislation protects people who have a disability
• Recognise attitudes and barriers faced by people who have a disability.
• Summarise the social model of disability and how it is put into practice.
Requirements and expectations
Learners will be expected to be engaged in learning, participate in all activities including group discussions and complete coursework within agreed timeframes (included T&C)
A Onefile (e-portfolio) profile will be created on the learners behalf to support them in the completion of their course
