Enabling Care Facilitator Programme – A Full Care Approach – Cohort 5

This course is delivered in two parts.
Manager session – One half day
Facilitator sessions – Three full days all of which all must be attended (T&C’s apply)

Support your staff to become ‘Enabling Care Facilitators’, where they will learn how simple changes can be made to improve the quality of someone’s life

  • They will gain knowledge AND practical skills that will allow them to help individuals with such things as function, positioning and mobility
  • Your staff will also be taught the importance of having a questioning mind, which enquires about a person’s current abilities or circumstances, with a view to seeking solutions to improve outcomes – linking to the Hertfordshire Connected Lives Strategy
  • This training also includes learning how to spot signs of acute and chronic deterioration and what to do to for the best outcome

Manager Session- Building an Enabling Culture

8th June 2021 2pm- 4.30pm (If you have previously attended this session you do not need to attend)

Facilitator session dates and times:

  • 14th June 10am-4.30 pm
  • 15th June 10am-4.30 pm
  • 21st June 10am-4.30 pm

  1. Introduction to Enablement and Independence
  2. Communication
  3. Anatomy and Physiology
  4. Posture and Positioning
  5. Therapeutic handling
  6. Respiratory care

Requirements and expectations

Learners will be expected to be engaged in learning, participate in all activities including group discussions, share their own experiences of working in the care sector, whilst respecting confidentiality, and to share best practice examples. Delegates will be expected to attend Face to Face CPD sessions once this is possible and certificates will last for a year, when the next CPD should be undertaken

Ideally two people from the same provider should be booked onto this course so they can practise skills on each other whilst sessions are virtual 

A Onefile (e-portfolio) profile will be created on the learners behalf to support them in the completion of their course
